Facility & Equipment Details

Description

The Musculoskeletal Core at SUNY Upstate Medical University provides comprehensive imaging and functional evaluation of the musculoskeletal system. It features advanced instrumentation, including a bone densitometer, radiosteriometric analysis system, peripheral quantitative computed tomography, and digital radiography with fluoroscopy. The Motion Analysis Lab supports gait and physical performance studies using six digital motion cameras, ten piezoelectric force plates, an overhead track system, and wireless electromyography. Both digital imaging and conventional film processing are available, with registered radiology technicians and scientific directors assisting in study design and application. The core serves clinical and research needs, offering ancillary imaging procedures for patients involved in research protocols.
