Research interests

Jack received his PhD in Physics from the University of Virginia, where he studied thermoelectric and superconducting materials.  He went on to a postdoctoral position working at Brookhaven National Laboratory to study correlated electron materials.  He joined the physics faculty at Farmingdale State College, where his experimental condensed matter physics group studies energy-related materials and disordered magnets.  He is committed to providing authentic research experiences to undergraduate students and works closely with CSTEP partners and the American Physical Society National Mentoring Community to extend these opportunities to students from historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged populations.
