    Biography

    Ying Wang received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California at Davis, where she studied dietary lipids and endothelial inflammation using in vitro vascular mimetic models. Wang then pursued her postdoctoral training with Michael Shuler and Harold Craighead at Cornell University, where she developed microphysiological systems for modeling human blood-brain barrier and colorectal cancer liver metastasis.

    Wang's research has been focusing on creating and utilizing human-based functional living tissues or biomimetic microsystems for disease modeling, drug screening, and regenerative medicine. She is particularly interested in understanding and tackling brain cancer and neurodegenerative diseases with body-on-a-chip technologies.
