A Case Study Approach to Analyzing the Relationship between Children and Services in a System of Care

Abstract

Evaluations of menial health system-of-care programs need to include quantitative and qualitative data. To date, most of these evaluations have collected primarily quantitative data. A single case study approach that uses case records and interviews of children, parents, and professional staff can provide informative qualitative data. In this article, the relationship between a child and family and a system of care is examined through a single case analysis. The methodology to collect the case record and interview data, and to analyze and graphically illustrate the data, are presented.
