A novel reception method to mitigate frequency offset in OFDM receivers

Research output: Contribution to journalConference articlepeer-review

Abstract

A novel reception method for OFDM systems, based on the use of multiple local oscillators at the receiver is proposed. In this method the received signal is down-converted using multiple oscillators with slightly different frequencies. The down-converted signals are then combined before the OFDM demodulation takes place. The Signal to Interference Ratio and the Bit Error Rate performance of the proposed system has been obtained and compared to those of the existing systems. It has been shown that at higher frequency offsets the proposed method can provide better performance.
