Abstract

Results from a simple 24 h thunderstorm probability forecasting experiment that took place at a number of locations during the summers of 1979 and 1980 are presented. The overall skill level relative to the climatological control is + 16.5%, or approximately one-third that of published 24 h temperature and precipitation probability forecast skills. -from Author
