Antiferromagnetic resonance in LaMnO3 at low temperature

Abstract

The phenomena of antiferromagnetic resonance (AFMR) in stoichiometric single crystal of LaMnO3 at low temperature was analyzed. The obtained results were described by a canted antiferromagnet model, with biaxial anisotropy and a Dzyaloshinski-Moriya (DM) interaction. The DM interaction was weak, which was found as the dominant cause of canted magnetism. The results show that the GdFeO3-type octahedron rotation leads to tilted character of single-ion anisotropy which plays a dominant role in spin canting.
