Abstract
Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is characterized by arterial or venous thrombosis and pregnancy loss in the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL), which include anticardiolipin antibodies, lupus anticoagulant, and anti-. β2-glycoprotein I. It is associated with ischemic cerebrovascular disease and possibly various other neurological conditions. This article will discuss aPL, classification criteria, pathogenesis, central nervous system manifestations, and treatment of APS.
