Calculation of nucleon structure in lattice QCD with almost-physical light quarks

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

I report on recent calculation of nucleon radius and magnetic moment performed in full QCD with twice the physical pion mass and newer, more exciting calculation with pion masses very close to physical. The same methodology yields values for the nucleon momentum fraction carried by quarks, quark spin and orbital angular momentum (OAM) contribution to the nucleon spin. The quark OAM is a particularly interesting observable exhibiting quarks motion in the nucleon, and it is hard to measure in experiments, making lattice QCD an essential tool of nuclear physics.
