Abstract

Chapter 8 presents clinical supervision activities and interventions focused on challenging and disrupting oppression through broaching and accountability. This chapter contains five anti-oppressive clinical supervision interventions. This chapter presents readers with a selection of anti-oppressive interventions developed by interdisciplinary supervision experts with extensive familiarity with anti-oppressive supervision methodologies. The interventions outlined embrace multiple supervision formats and modalities, accommodating supervisees at different developmental stages. Each intervention is designed with adaptability in mind, enabling mental health professionals to modify them to meet their specific needs and desired outcomes within supervision. Supervisors are advised to incorporate these interventions with their guiding developmental, process, and psychotherapy-based models while ensuring the meaningful application and praxis of anti-oppressive supervision. This chapter presents five distinct interventions designed to enhance supervisory practice: Oppression Impact and Redress Plan, Group Supervision Broaching Presentations and Critical Analysis, The Broaching Cultural Genogram: An Equitable and Empowering Supervisory Intervention, Broaching and Accountability Through the Use of Anti-Oppressive-Interpersonal Process Recall (AO-IPR), and Broaching and Accountability: Practicing and Modeling Through a Real-Play.
