Abstract
Examines the commitment of park and recreation employees to their agency profession, and community. Organizational commitment was positively related to age, number of children, salary, and community size. Commitment to the profession and community were not associated with these or other biographical characteristics. While the results are not meant to be generalizable to all employees in the field, the methods used and the significant relationships between the variables have implications for the management of park and recreation agency personnel. The desirability of high levels of commitment and methods to enhance commitment in park and recreation agencies are discussed. -Authors
