Abstract
Dramatic advances occurring over the past decade in endovascular technology and techniques have revolutionized the field of cerebrovascular neurosurgery. The goal of this article is to review the evidence supporting endovascular approaches for the treatment of intracranial aneurysms and to discuss basic treatment techniques, complication avoidance, and the management and treatment of vasospasm from the perspective of "hybrid" cerebrovascular neurosurgeons who perform open and catheter-based interventions.
