Abstract

The available methods of analysis for GHB and GBL were examined, and a modified gas chromatographic procedure was developed which improved upon the recovery of drug from plasma. It was shown also that the literature method which claimed to be a differential assay for GBL and GHB is not specific. Thus, previous reports describing intact GBL levels might not be reliable.
