Abstract

The structure and scope of family courts vary widely from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, but all family courts have the same mission: to combine court matters related to family issues into one system for better decision making and faster case resolution. While the concept has existed for decades, not all jurisdictions have adopted the family court model despite its benefits for the family and the court system.
