N2 - A recently developed, simple and efficient control method, the coefficient diagram method (CDM), is proposed for water level control in boiling water reactors (BWRs). The current BWR feedwater control systems consist of cascade controllers which use water level, steam flow and feedwater flow measurements, and need to be tuned with multiple interconnected control parameters. It is shown that a coefficient diagram based controller can provide better performance than the existing type of BWR level controllers regarding stability, response and robustness while utilizing only water level measurement.
