Abstract

The first example of a persistent rhenium(O) radical, Re(CO)₃(P-c-Hx₃)₂·, has been prepared and characterized in benzene solution, by extended photolysis of Re₂(CO)₈(P-c-Hx₃)₂ in the presence of excess P-c-Hx₃, with removal of CO, EPR, IR, and UV-visible spectra have been obtained.
