Abstract
Our present paper examines the nature of voluntary recycling at the household level in an attempt to identify strategies that could be employed to increase participation rates. Specifically, we will examine the causes and effects of critical constructs such as socio-demographic attributes of the residents, their awareness of the program, environmental attitudes and perceived economic constraints as necessary predictors of intended and actual participation rates in recycling projects. -Authors
