Abstract

As the elderly represent a continuously increasing proportion of the population, so do their medical problems, and prominent among these problems is hypertension. It is our purpose here to consider the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and clinical aspects of hypertension as they relate to older subjects, defined for the purposes of this article as those over 60 years of age.
