Abstract

Existing methods for treating nonhomogeneous gas radiation are extended to include radiation from non-homogeneous mixtures of gases which have overlapping absorption-emission bands. Narrow band and wide band methods are discussed. A simplified wide band method is presented whereby hand calculations of the intensity emitted by such gas mixtures can be performed. Calculations are made by the narrow and wide band methods and the results compared.
