Abstract
The literary works of Josué Montijo (Puerto Rico, 1975) -El killer (2007) and "Tú no jodes más" (2013)- Adapt to the Puerto Rican context the modern trope of the monster -namely, the serial killer, the torturer and the zombie. In this article, I study the ways in which Montijo legitimizes his work as part of the gothic and splatterpunk literary traditions.
