Abstract

Raman study of phonons in crystalline complexes of octafluoronaphthalene with 1,4-dibromonaphthalene, 1-bromo-4-chloronaphthalene and 1,4-dichloronaphthalene reveals that in crystalline complexes, mass-coefficient tuning (achieved by varying mass-coefficient differences of two components) changes the nature of phonon bands from coupled motions (both component participates) to decoupled motions.
