Abstract
A new dirhenium(III) anion [Re2Cl7(PMe3)]- completing the series of complexes Re2Cl8-x(PMe3)x (x = l, 2, 3, and 4) with the basic monodentate phosphine PMe3 has prepared by a one-electron oxidation of the dirhenium(II,III) complex Re2Cl5(PMe3)3 in the presence of [Bun4N]Cl as a chloride source. It was isolated in the form of the compound [Bun4N]4 [Re2Cl7(PMe3)]2 [Re2-Cl8]·2CH2Cl2 and was structurally characterized.
