Abstract

The recent development of synthetic optical holography has provided an opportunity to generate arbitrary reference waves in digital holography, which may not have linear phase. As an interesting case, we consider a reference whose phase varies sinusoidally in space. The hologram is inverted by combining at least two windowed Fourier terms from the intensity image. The fact that the reference can be generated by an oscillating reference mirror with limited travel range in open loop simplifies the requirements for synthetic holography.
