Abstract
Clinicians frequently see patients with pruritic rashes. Ectoparasites are commonly overlooked as a cause. Diagnosis is usually simple if the clinician has a high index of suspicion and a basic understanding of the symptoms and signs that these parasites produce. In addition to treating the individual patient, the clinican needs to consider the patient's contacts, the environment, and the need for community education.
