Abstract

Parity measurements of nuclear levels was presented using a free-electron-laser generated γ-ray beam. Initial results demonstrated that the quality and intensity of γ rays at the high intensity γ-ray source facility opened a generation of photonuclear experiments. All intensity asymmetries observed were negative and consistent with an E1 character for the dipole excitations.
