Abstract
Applying a value chain framework, we develop the concept of people analytics maturity and show how people analytics maturity is indirectly related to organizational performance through its relationship with human resources and business outcomes. We test several value chain models using survey data collected in 2018 and again in 2021. Structural equation modeling results show mixed outcomes linking people analytics maturity indirectly to profit margin and return on assets. There is support for a model tested with data collected in 2018; however, there is no support for testing the same model using data collected in 2021. A second value chain model linking people analytics maturity to the use of recruiting and selection analytics, workforce planning, diversity and inclusion analytics, and financial performance is supported using data collected in 2021. We discuss implications for future research and practice.
