Abstract
Lightweight, implantable lithium/carbon monofluoride cells were developed and discharged under a family of constant resistance loads at 37 °C. Closed circuit potential and internal impedance were monitored throughout discharge. Operating temperature range was also examined from -10 °C to 50 °C. The data indicate that the cells should deliver 1.2 Ah to a 2 V cutoff under a 100 kohm resistor and are able to operate over a 60 °C temperature range.
