Response of sliding base-isolated structures

Abstract

Experimental and anlaytical results on the behavior of sliding isolated structures are presented. A mathematical model of friction of Teflon bearings is developed, calibrated, and verified. Results show that sliding isolation systems are insensitive to the frequency content of input motion.
