Abstract
Trauma to the posterior segment can drastically impact vision and result in permanent visual loss. This chapter will review posterior segment anatomy and techniques for its examination in the emergency room and will describe the effects of trauma on various structures of the posterior segment with a focus on diagnosis and management. The goal is to help guide patient evaluation and appropriate referral.
