Abstract

Rupture of digital extensor tendons following resection of the distal ulna is an uncommon complication and has been attributed to erosive action of the ulna at the site of resection. A theoretical advantage of stabilization of the ulna with soft tissue following resection is prevention of tendon abrasion against the end of the bone. We describe a case involving rupture of the digital extensor tendons following distal ulna resection and soft-tissue stabilization.
