Abstract
A computational tool for seismic evaluation of reinforced concrete buildings is presented. Using modern concepts in concrete modeling, the newly developed computer program performs a static collapse mode analysis to estimate the building base shear coefficient, and an inelastic dynamic response analysis under horizontal and vertical base excitations. The results of the dynamic analysis are represented using a calibrated damage model to enable a physical interpretation of the response. The program can be used for seismic evaluation of existing buildings and in damage-limiting design of new buildings.
