Social tagging and name authorities: Popular music information discovery

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The study examines the alignment of user tags with Name authority attributes of popular music artist names. The authors found 65% of the tags mapped to Resource Description and Access Name authority data. User tags provide more granular genre information than Name authority records; therefore, user tags can enhance retrieval based on genre.
