Abstract

This paper discusses the potential of adiabatic circuits for simultaneously achieving energy-efficiency and security. Despite the presence of adiabatic logic for more than six decades, some of the relatively recent improvements demonstrate the significant benefits that adiabatic circuits can provide in niche applications such as RF-powered devices. An overview of these improvements is provided, highlighting the primary design challenges and opportunities related to adiabatic circuits.
