Abstract

Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of synthesized surface-active stilbazole salt and stearic acid were obtained. Their spectral and luminescent properties were investigated in relation to the salt and acid ratio in a monolayer. An additional short wave maximum in the absorption spectrum of stilbazole salt multilayers was found. This can be explained by H aggregate formation. With LB film dissolution the aggregates are partially or completely preserved in solution, their fraction increasing with the polarity of the solvent.
