Spin oscillation and the possibility of quadrupole moment measurement for Ω--hyperons moving in a crystal

Abstract

It is shown that the effect of spin oscillation arises when Ω--hyperons pass through a single crystal at small angles with respect to crystallographic planes. A new technique for the Ω--hyperon quadrupole moment measurement, based on this effect, is proposed.
