“The 90s fucking sucked”. Neonaturalismo y neoliberalismo en la novela policial rioplatense: estokolmo de Gustavo Escanlar (Uruguay) y entre hombres de Germán Maggiori (Argentina)

This article is about the representations of the neoliberal hegemony during the 90s in two contemporary crime novels from Argentina and Uruguay. Both fictions share characteristics of the 19^th century Naturalist novel. However, they also present a novelty: the use of hegemonic ideology that, like social, political, or economic causes, determines characters and actions. Based on this analysis, we can read the adequacy between the content represented in the plot and their Neo-naturalist aesthetics as the narrative project of both novels.
