Abstract
Building upon the agenda established in Chapter 1, this chapter further describes the concept of “a workforce system.” It emphasizes relationships among Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy (PESP) specialists who are implicated within and by this system. It also illuminates limitations in past-present workforce frameworks. In contrast to prior approaches, this chapter offers and justifies the notion of an interconnected system in which elements influence and are influenced by one another. Accordingly, redesign proposals and improvements in one specialized component (e.g., for teachers) influence and are influenced by one or more of the others (e.g., teacher educators, doctoral program faculty members).
