Abstract
Self-monitoring of urine glucose concentrations is a basic component of selfregulation of serum glucose in juvenile diabetics. However, previous research has shown that patient determinations of glucose concentrations are often inaccurate. This study assessed the effects of feedback training versus extended practice on accuracy of urine testing in a sample of juvenile diabetic youngsters selected for inaccurate testing. Results showed a significant decrease in error rate in subjects trained with feedback, as compared to those in the extended practice control group.
