Abstract

We study the problem of transmitting time constrained synchronous messages in local area networks. A bandwidth allocation scheme for synchronous messages is developed and the sufficient condition for schedulability is derived. Implementation of the allocation scheme is proposed on slotted ring and DQDB networks.
