Abstract

We process an optical wave front emanating from a monomode optical fiber by fusion splicing several small sections of step-index and graded-index multimode optical fibers. In this way a wave front of an optical wave can be engineered without its leaving the optical fiber. Results for several integrated coherent imaging delivery systems are presented.
